My First Time in U.S
When I moved to U.S, I was afraid to live here, because I knew U.S and Korea are very different. And few months later, I could tell what the differences are. I was not used to few things. The first, people in U.S usually say “hello or how are you” even though they don’t know each other. It was very uncomfortable to me when I couldn’t speak English, because I didn’t know what to say. And I was confused because I thought I might know them if someone say something to me. I wasn’t use to speaking with stranger. The second, I was so surprised when I see many couples in public. I saw a couple in the park, and they kissed and hug in front of me. They seemed like they didn’t care who is behind them and who are looking them. In Korea, people care about what other people would think. So they don’t kiss in the public. I was used to it as any other Korean, but now I changed. The last, school system is very different. Most interesting was student move every class in U.S. Students have to go and find their class. But in Korea, students just stay at one classroom all day, and teachers come to class. For example, if have math class after science class, math teacher come to my class after science teacher leave. I remembered I felt 10 minute break time longer than here. To sum up, I was not used to many things when I came to U.S first time, but now I am getting used to living in U.S. Sometime living in U.S was hard to me, but I believe I am still doing good.

Flood in Manila
The article “Scores killed in Philippines floods” (CNN.com 09/28/09), explains more than 140 people died by flood at manila in Philippines. It was the heaviest rainfall in last 40 years. The article said “more than 80 percent of the capital was under water at one point Sunday. The deluge caused by Tropical Storm Ketsana, which has since strengthened into a typhoon, engulfed whole houses and buses.” And some people were on the rooftops waiting the army helicopters to get rescue. This powerful water make road impassable, and rescue effort harder. They worried that if the rains return, there will be more flood. I hope the rain will not return, and there is no more died too. Sometime I feel human is nothing in front of nature disasters. We couldn’t do anything. Even though human think they are the strong and smart, human is just small and week in front of disasters. So we have to keep our nature clean and protect for us and next generation. I feel bed because people in manila lose their family, friends and home. I hope they can get help as many as they can.

Some advice about Korea
If you want to visit my country, you should know some information. I will give you some advice because I want you to enjoy the trip to Korea. The first thing that I want to tell you is that you might expect to take the bus and subway many times if you stay in Seoul. There are so many cars and the traffic is bad. Also gas is very expensive too. I recommend take the bus or subway because you could save your time and money. The next advice is that you might walk all the way. If you don’t have an umbrella, you would get wet badly. It does not always rain in Korea but you need to prepare by yourself. The last thing is that you have to respect people in a different way from here. Especially you should be careful to alder people. In Korea, they bow to each other when they meet first time, and also you have to use different words to older people. It’s kind of hard to learn at first, but you could tell them you are from a different country, and then people in Korea would help you kindly. I hope you will have good memories in Korea with my advice.

A person I admire
When people ask me whom I admire the most, I always say it should be my aunt who was died 2 years ago. She was only 40 and single when she was died. I admire her because she was professional, open mind and influential person. First of all, she was a professional. She was a book cover maker by hand. She was made cover of book to make that book to become an only one in the world. Also she was the first person who has that skill and certificate in Korea at that time. Next, she was very open mind. She went to the Paris to study when she was in college, and then she came back to Korea 10 years later. We had met again when I was middle school student. I felt she was very open mind person when I see her life in Korea because she was young and spent her life in Paris, I guess. So I could tell so many things that I can’t tell to my parents. She was like a my best friend and counselor. Last thing is she was influential person to many people, and I influenced too. I could have dream about study in other coutty because of her. I thought I could be better person if I do like her because she was so perfect person to me. And she tought students also. Those students must influenced by my aunt, I believe. In conclusion, person that I admire the most is my aunt because she was professional, open mind and influencial woman. She had her own place to work, and she was also teacher. She was young and healthy mind. And many people infulenced by her. I loved her so much, and I still admire her.

Suspect of Yale University
The article “Report details where Yale suspect’s DNA was found” (www.wtop.com 09/18/09), explains a story about murder of Yale university. There was murder at Yale University, and police arrested a killer who was lab technician of Yale University. His name is Raymond Clark who is 24 years old. And police said they found DNA of suspect. It was in the wall where victim’s body found. The officer said “Clark tried to hide blood-spattered equipment and cleaned up areas Le was in before she vanished Sept. 8.” Police took Clark’s DNA after they found victim’s body, and he was arrested next day. Last week I did Reading Journal with a story of missing woman at Yale University. Then I said I hope she is fine. After few days I saw news the police found dead body at Yale University. I felt bad for her. The story was kind of shock because they found the dead body in the wall, and killer was lab technician. I think there are many people who have mental problem very near to us. I am scared because we don’t know who had mental problem, and we don’t know what they would do suddenly. I hope there is no murder or accident any more.
